Kingston Collection is very happy to partner with the American Red Cross to offer a blood drive on the South Shore. The blood drive will be held on Wednesday, November 18th from 2:00PM-7:00PM inside the space across from Fit Factory and next to Pearle Vision.
Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and donations like the one on November 18th help millions of patients in need every year by providing that valuable blood. This is a wonderful opportunity to help support the community by donating blood and saving people’s lives.
The American Red Cross has a constant and ongoing need for blood and platelet donations. There is no known end date in this fight against coronavirus, and the Red Cross needs the help of blood and platelet donors and blood drive hosts to meet the needs of patient care.
Additionally, the Red Cross is testing all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies. The Red Cross hopes testing will provide critical insight into whether donors may have possibly been exposed to this coronavirus, as some COVID-19 carriers can be asymptomatic. We are committed to helping others in meaningful ways during this pandemic.
Supporting the blood supply is a community-wide responsibility, which is why Kingston Collection is always happy to team up with the American Red Cross. Change a life, starting with your own, by calling 1-800-Red-Cross or visiting www.redcrossblood.org to make an appointment to donate blood. Blood can be used for patients undergoing many surgical procedures; organ transplants, trauma and chemotherapy. For some patients, such as the victim of an automobile accident, the need for blood is sudden. For others, ongoing transfusions are needed to sustain lifesaving medical treatment.
