Spring brings the return of Osprey and Great Blue Herons to Great Neck as they prepare for nesting season. During this 90-minute naturalist-led walk, hear about the natural history of these magnificent birds, observe courtship and nesting behaviors, and learn about efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change on their long-term survival. This free walk is geared towards adults, is up to 2 miles in length and slow to moderate paced. Registration required.
Be prepared for possible damp and uneven terrain and be mindful that ticks are present. Thank you for leaving pets at home. Severe weather cancels. Bring binoculars if you have them.
