First Fridays Plymouth

On the first Friday of the month, Plymouth Bay Cultural District art galleries, museums, cultural establishments, shops and restaurants will feature artwork, along with music, poetry readings, and/or art demonstrations. Doors will be open from 5pm-8pm.  All are free to the public.

Kicking off the July 4th weekend is The Plymouth Center for the Arts. The Members’ Summer Art Show, “Luminosity” is beautiful, bright and will be lighting up the gallery walls. The New England Watercolor Society has it’s final days of the exhibit, “Works by Signature Members”–don’t miss it. Activities for our visitors also include a painting demonstration by Chris Mindle and a pottery demonstration by PCA Instructor, Roger Honey. Nancy Markley will be on the piano to provide “background music” and a scavenger hunt is ready for the children. The Artisan Shop will be open with great merchandise for sale. Light refreshments will be served. Come join in the fun!

First Friday at the Hedge House, 126 Water Street – As part of First Fridays Plymouth, an initiative highlighting arts and culture in the Plymouth Bay Cultural District, the Hedge House at 126 Water Street will be open for free mini tours from 5 to 8pm. During July’s special opening, local sculptor Donald MacNaughton will be displaying his carved wooden sculptures in the Formal Parlor. Come see 21st-century art in a 19th-century interior!
