The Plymouth Public Library proudly presents the third annual Health & Wellness Fair, Making Connections for Health, Saturday, September 24th from 10 AM to 1 PM on the front lawn of the library at 132 South Street. The fair provides fun activities for kids, and a chance to learn about all the unique programs and services that are available for families in the greater Plymouth area. BID-Plymouth will be providing lung cancer screening and community nutrition information. Terra Cura will be on hand with healthy gardening tips and ideas, as well as the UMass Extension SNAP Ed program, both which will be assisting the library with their new Dig-In gardening grant.
Increased health literacy and awareness of services available are key to having a healthy community. The library, with its many community partners, brings programs and information to the public year round. The consumer health collection gives residents up to date and reliable information that is easy to understand. Vital community organizations such as Plymouth County Outreach, NAMI Plymouth Area, and the Plymouth Family Resource Center, are among the 25+ groups that will be represented at the fair, with information for families with young children as well as older adults and everyone in between.
