Fireworks Plymouth Denise Maccaferri

Each year Plymouth hosts an unforgettable Independence Day celebration drawing visitors from far and wide to America’s Hometown. The morning begins bright and early with a special 5K road race followed by the annual 4th of July Parade throughout historic Downtown Plymouth. The day includes food trucks on the Plymouth Waterfront, a free seaside concert by the beloved Plymouth “Phil” Philharmonic orchestra and culminates with a huge fireworks display over Plymouth Harbor.

  • 7:30am – Annual 4th of July 5K – Start/Finish on Water Street in front of Brewster Gardens – Check Here for Information and Registration.
  • 9am – Plymouth 4th of July Parade – From Cordage Park, 10 Cordage Park Circle. Please plan to be parked in the area you will be watching the parade no later than 8am to ensure you can get to your location before the roads are closed. Food trucks will be on the waterfront from the time that the parade begins until the conclusion of the fireworks. Novelty items as well as popcorn and cotton candy will be available throughout the day and evening from our roaming vendors. Check Here for more Information and Schedule of Events.
  • 7:30pm  – DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park – Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra. Plan to arrive at least 1 hour before the concert begins in order to find a parking spot and walk to the state park. Performance highlights include Tchaikovsky’s stirring 1812 Overture, a medley of Billy Joel hits titled Movin’ Out, musical selections from Wicked and, as a nod to its 50th anniversary, the main theme to the film Jaws.  The program also features a musical tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces and guest narrator Sue Giovanetti, executive director of the Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless, reading excerpts from the Declaration of Independence accompanied by a lush symphonic score.
  • 9:15pm/Dusk – DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park – Fireworks. There are several viewing spots available throughout town in addition to DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park including Burial Hill and Nelson Park.
