According to jazz great, Ornette Coleman, “Jazz is the only music in which the same note can be played night after night but differently each time.” Many would say that the same thing holds true for jazz’s closest cousin, the blues. And many more would say it is a real treat to hear a guitar in the hands of an accomplished blues and jazz guitarist. Paul Speidel is an accomplished blues and jazz guitarist and he’s coming to Kingston.
Originally from Chicago, Mr. Speidel’s roots are in Chicago-style blues and he has been a prominent part of Boston’s extensive blues and jazz music scene for two decades as a guitarist, composer, educator and producer. Paul has opened for notable artists such as Johnny A, John Lee Hooker, Jr., and Luther “Guitar Junior” Johnson.
Paul Speidel will bring his blues and jazz guitar chops to the Kingston Public Library on Saturday, May 28th at 2:00 PM. Mr. Speidel will be accompanied by a bass guitarist. The Library closes at 2:00 PM on Saturday but will open for this performance.
