BILL COLE: A Grave Mistake? The English Origins of Old Comer Thomas Clarke – Tuesday, May 9th, 6:30 pm
Was Thomas Clarke a crewmember of Mayflower’s 1620 voyage to Plymouth? Clarke’s gravestone placed atop Burial Hill in 1697 is one of the cemetery’s oldest surviving markers. With new evidence uncovered in England, author Bill Cole examines Clarke’s origins and considers whether new findings support family lore of a Mayflower connection. Cole, a Mayflower descendent, author, family historian, and genealogical researcher, will have copies of his new book, Puritans, Plagues, and Promises, available for purchase and signing.
