Phil Conductor Steven Karidoyanes will lead the Plymouth Philharmonic’s Cabaret Orchestra— a 26-piece ensemble in a lively, family-friendly performance. Audiences will enjoy spirited selections like Dance of the Comedians from Smetana’s The Bartered Bride and the toe-tapping rhythms of Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, alongside Celtic flair from Lord of the Dance. A medley from The Sound of Music brings Broadway charm, while the “At the Movies” suite features favorites from Titanic, The Incredibles, and Soul Bossa Nova. The heartfelt Ashokan Farewell, the classic Colonel Bogey March, and a rousing tribute in Irving Berlin: A Symphonic Portrait round out a concert full of joy, nostalgia, and summer magic.
Seating is general admission with areas for concertgoers to place lawn chairs or blankets. The lawn opens at 6 PM; the concert begins at 6:30 PM and runs for about an hour without intermission. In the event of rain, the concert will be inside the Center, which is fully accessible.
The concert is sponsored by the Emilson Family in partnership with the Emilson YMCA. The 110th Season of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra is supported in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which receives support from the state of Massachusetts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
