Celebrate National Pollinator Week and enjoy extra activities that highlight the vital role that these essential creatures play in our ecosystem, economy, and agriculture. Take a self-guided or guided tour featuring both gardens and outdoor sculptures or visit the Pollinator Discovery Cart to learn about the key roles that pollinators play in our environment, the importance of native plants in supporting them, and what we can all do to help them thrive.
Special daily activities include:
- 10 am-5 pm: Self-Guided Walking Tour– Discover pollinators and native plants that support them while following this 9-stop, go-at-your-own-pace tour.
- 11-11:30 am: 30-Minute Pollinator-Focused Guided Tour-Guides share information about native plants and native cultivars that during this walking tour of the Garden of the Senses area. Tour meets at the entrance to the Garden of the Senses. (On Saturday, June 21 an American Sign Language interpreted tour is available)
- 11:30 am-3:30 pm: Pollinator Discovery Cart – Play a pollinator matching game, craft a pollinator of your own to take home, learn about the importance of native plants in supporting pollinators and about what we can all do to help our pollinator pals thrive at the McGraw Family Garden of the Senses
All extra pollinator-focused activities are free with admission or membership. No advance registration is required.
