Join us for an author talk on Monday, March 22 at 6 P.M. by Plymouth genealogist Alicia Crane Williams as she tells the story of “Priscilla and Her Children” featured in the publication “Duxbury: Our Pilgrim Story – a 2020 Perspective” which is a collection of 12 essays developed by local historians for the Plymouth 400 commemoration.
Priscilla Mullins and John Alden were 1620 Mayflower passengers and they married in 1623. Together John and Priscilla had ten children and settled on Duxbury land which remains in the Alden family today. Their relationship was immortalized in the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem, “The Courtship of Myles Standish” which turned Priscilla into a romantic icon.
Alicia is a Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists and editor of the first three Silver Books on the Alden Family. She was genealogist of the Alden Kindred for over 30 years and is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Northeastern University. Alicia lives in Plymouth.
