The South Shore Food Bank is serving up a first-of-its-kind fundraiser that promises to be deliciously epic! Centered around the theme “food brings people together,” FOOD FIGHT will pit budding and more seasoned local chefs against one another in a high-energy culinary showdown.
Inspired by the thrill of Food Network competitions, the high-energy cook-off will take place at Starland Sports Complex and Fun Park on Route 53 in Hanover on June 21st, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will not only spotlight the skill and creativity of regional cooks but also celebrate the rich and diverse culinary culture of the South Shore.
The fundraiser will be hosted by nationally recognized celebrity Chef Stephen Coe, a five-time “Chopped Champion” who has bested fellow celebrity Bobbie Flay twice! FOOD FIGHT competitors will face off for a chance to advance to the final round and challenge Chef Coe.
The FOOD FIGHT challenge will be judged by local culinary luminaries Paul Wahlberg, owner of Wahlburgers and Alma Nove; Laurie Hepworth, publisher of Edible Southeastern Massachusetts; Jose Durate, owner of Taranta in Boston, and Katelin Smith, Culinary Arts Program at Plymouth High School.
Competing for the title of FOOD FIGHT Champion will be restaurant chefs Dane Lane from The Tack Room, Doug Rodriguez from Osteria Vivo, Ethan Wyatt from Faces Brewing, Joshua Todisco from Rye Tavern, Joe Ellia from Upper Cape Tech, Daniel Burger from The Langham, and Joshua Campbell from Max Ultimate Food.
Food truck chefs will represent Lobsta Love, CJ’s Creation Station, Artisan Pig, Crust Crusaders, and Wicked Flavah.
