One of the wonderful things about being human is our desire for self-expression through clothing. We have built huge economies around clothing, dyes, textiles and more, just so that we can dress ourselves in a way that gives us joy and identity. But what do we do as our favorite pieces become worn or uninteresting? The beauty of clothing is that it can be mended, redyed, and continues on gathering memories on your back. This 2-day class will give you the practical skills to fix holes, buttons, cover stains and overdye your clothing using non-toxic plant dyes to give it a new and extended life. We will run through various mending techniques on pieces that you bring in from your closets and learn fun techniques to add color to them. No previous sewing or dyeing experience necessary, this is a beginner level class. 2 Classes: August 17 and August 24
