Carol Cohen offers a unique blend of first-person performance and multimedia presentation. The hour-long interactive programs transport the audience to another time and place in American History.
Since 2010 audiences have enjoyed Carol Cohen’s signature style celebrating the lives of important woman of history. Each program has two parts. Each program begins with a first-person narrative performance involving the audience members. The performance is followed by an informative and visually rich power point focusing on topics relevant to the character and their lifetime.
Every program is perfect for a variety of audiences: libraries, historical societies and museums, senior centers, women’s and men’s organizations and more.
Abigail Adams and the daughters of Liberty – The time is January 1774, the month following the Boston Tea Party. Abigail Adams (portrayed by Carol Cohen) invites a group of women to Plymouth for a “Spinning Bee” at the home of James and Mercy Warren.
At Home with Eleanor Roosevelt – The audience will meet Eleanor Roosevelt at Val Kill, her home in Hyde Park, New York in December 1948. Eleanor has just returned from the United Nations where they have ratified the International Declaration of Human Rights.
A Garden Walk with Eleanor Roosevelt – It is the summer of 1949. Eleanor Roosevelt is hosting a garden picnic at her home in Hyde Park where she is recognizing contributions to the Victory Garden effort during World War.
Carol Cohen is a published historian and educator. Her book called Begin with a Box reflects her decades of teaching in higher education.
