Duxbury Art Association

The Duxbury Art Association (DAA) is one of the oldest Arts organizations in the country.  Founded in 1917 by some of the most esteemed artists of the day, including Charles Bittenger, John Singer Sargent, and Frank Benson, the DAA has attracted and nurtured some of America’s most well-known and respected artists.

The Duxbury Art Association’s home is at The Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street in Duxbury, a building we share with the South Shore Conservatory. Today, the Duxbury Art Association is a non-profit 510(c)3 corporation whose mission is to provide South Shore Massachusetts residents with access to quality art education, regular gallery exhibits, and a continuation of our historic annual events — all of which provide opportunities for artists to grow, exhibit, and sell their work.  We also offer all types of classes for children and adults, including mixed media, oil painting, acrylics, water colour, and others, as we strive to support “the artist in everyone.”
