The James Library & Center for the Arts provides world-class music, art, and literary programs. Built in 1874, the James Library was repurposed in the 1990’s as an arts center–a gift to the community from the First Parish of Norwell. Today, the James hosts concerts in our intimate concert hall, which features a beautiful Steinway B piano; features local, regional, and national artists in our newly renovated art gallery; welcomes authors and lecturers on a variety of topics; and operates a free lending library for the community complete with all the latest and greatest books.
