Sandwich Glass Museum

The Sandwich Glass Museum is a town history museum and contemporary glass art gallery located in the heart of charming, historic Sandwich.  Offering live glassblowing demonstrations hourly on the hour, an informative movie, extensive galleries of both historic and contemporary glass, a kid-friendly experiential play space, and a breathtakingly beautiful Gift Shop, the Museum affords visitors of all ages a fascinating glimpse into the art, history, and science of glass making.  The perfect rainy-day activity!

The Museum preserves and displays the famous glass manufactured in Sandwich during the 1800s. In 2025, to celebrate the bicentennial of the start of industrial glassmaking in the Town of Sandwich, we launched the SGM Glass Academy, a series of classes and workshops focused on teaching the next generation about working with glass as an art form.

The Contemporary Galleries and Museum Gift Shop feature both historic reproduction and contemporary handmade glass art crafted here in the USA. Many of the glass artists we showcase live and work right here in the Town of Sandwich, keeping the historical legacy of the old glass factory alive and relevant.
