The Sandwich Glass Museum is a town history museum and contemporary glass art gallery located at 129 Main Street in Sandwich MA. Offering live glassblowing demonstrations hourly on the hour, an informative movie, extensive galleries of both historic and contemporary glass, a kid-friendly experiential play space, and a breathtakingly beautiful Gift Shop, the Museum affords visitors of all ages a fascinating glimpse into the art, history, and science of glass making.
In 2025, to celebrate the bicentennial of the start of industrial glassmaking in the Town of Sandwich, we launched the SGM Glass Academy, a series of classes and workshops focused on teaching the next generation about working with glass as an art form. We offer an introductory class in glassblowing called the “Glass Experience” for ages 14 and up, as well as monthly Glass Fusing workshops, ages 8 and up. And our newest permanent exhibit, the Discover GlassRoom, is a hands-on, interactive replica of the Sandwich Glass Museum’s own hot shop where our younger visitors can experience the magic of glassblowing through safe, simulated activities. The little ones will also enjoy the scavenger hunt, putting marbles into the marble run, and watching the live glassblowing. Bring the whole family!
