Founded in 1979, the non-profit Company Theatre is a state-of-the-art performing arts performance and education complex. This includes a 360 seat theatre, education and rehearsal spaces, dance studios, scene and costume shops, outdoor performing space, and a parking lot. Each year, approximately 20,000 theatre-goers from the South Shore, Greater Boston area, and Southeastern Massachusetts attend shows staged by the award-winning Company Theatre. Elaborate, full-scale contemporary, and classic musicals are a Company Theatre trademark. Each production involves nearly 100 people per show; actors, singers, dancers, directors, choreographers, musicians, lighting, set, and costume designers, professional and amateur performers, artisans, and technicians contribute to the regional excellence for which we are known. The Company Theatre produces 10 shows annually, including 4 musicals, 5 youth and teen shows, and a non-musical drama or comedy.
Our mission is to entertain, enlighten, and energize audiences with high-quality productions; and through the Academy, we educate and inspire students of all ages. The Company Theatre has been recognized by The Massachusetts State Senate, The New England Theatre Conference, The Independent Reviewers of New England, The City of Quincy, and has been the recipient of the prestigious Moss Hart Award on numerous occasions for their professionally produced, original, and high-quality productions.
