Plan A Pet Friendly Vacation in Plymouth County

Hotels

March 21, 2023

One of the most important parts of a vacation is making sure the whole family has fun. For some people, “family” includes the dog. With all of the unconditional love our pets provide us, they deserve a getaway, too. Instead of boarding your dog or calling on a pet sitter, plan a pet-friendly vacation in Plymouth County.

Pet-Friendly Accommodations

Step one of any vacation is finding a place to stay, and finding a hotel that’s pet-friendly is essential.

Inn at Scituate Harbor

If you’re staying in Scituate, the Inn at Scituate Harbor accepts dogs under 25 pounds. You’ll have to call in advance to book a room with your dog, and there is an additional fee. However, the rooms are full of seaside charm, so both you and your pup will be very comfortable.

The Inn does have a policy that requires dogs not be left alone in the room, but it’s doubtful you’ll spend much time inside anyway. After all, you’ll be right on the waterfront so you and your dog can enjoy long walks along the beach, explore the town, and more.

Hotel 1620

Traveling with more than one dog? Hotel 1620 in Plymouth welcomes up to two dogs per room! There is a pet fee of $40 per pet per day, but your dogs will get a treat at check-in. After all, they deserve as warm of a welcome as their owners.

With 175 rooms, Hotel 1620 is the largest hotel in the area, and it’s also right across the street from the bay. This gives you easy access to Plymouth’s beaches (several of which are seasonally dog-friendly), restaurants, and other fun things you and your pets can do together. Hotel 1620 at Plymouth Harbor

Treats and Souvenirs

While on a pet-friendly vacation, you should remember to pick up a special treat or souvenir for your pup.

Kupcakes and Kibble

Kupcakes and Kibble in Plymouth is where the pups shop! You can find delicious, dog-friendly pastries and treats they can snack on for being such a great traveling companion. Pick up a “doggie beer” so you can share a toast on the last night of the trip. Or you can pick up a new toy to keep them entertained during the ride home. If you’ve got a cat at home, don’t worry about them feeling left out – there’s a Kitty Corner where you can pick up some goodies for them too!

Pilgrim Pups

Also in Plymouth, Pilgrim Pups is your destination for all things dog. You can grab handmade, healthy treats for your canine companion, or even an adorable dog sweater if the weather turns chilly. There’s also an assortment of unique gifts available for dog-lovers, all sourced from small U.S. businesses.

Dog-Friendly Night Out

Both you and your dog are invited to sit back and relax at Untold Brewing in Scituate! Your pup can enjoy the dog treats and water provided while you sip on a high-quality lager or ale. Dogs are welcome seven days a week at this brewery and taproom, though it is requested that they remain leashed at all times.

Next time if you’re planning a trip to Plymouth County, don’t fret about leaving Fido at home. Take your dog with you and enjoy a pet-friendly vacation you’ll never forge.
