VIRTUAL HARLOW FAMILY REUNION
FRIDAY, AUGUST 28th – SUNDAY, AUGUST 30th
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 81st Annual Meeting and Reunion of the Harlow Family Association will be held online. Hosted via Zoom by the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, this three-day event will feature virtual tours, history talks, and the annual business meeting of the Association. All programs are open at no charge to anyone with an interest in local history. Descendants of 17th-century Plymouth settler William Harlow will have a special opportunity to learn more about the Association and its work to connect family members and preserve family history.
Friday, August 28th
7:00 p.m.: Meet & Greet
Dr. Anne Mason, Executive Director of the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, will share a behind-the-scenes look into the Harlow Old Fort House. Attendees will have an opportunity to greet each other virtually, connecting Harlow cousins from coast to coast.
Saturday, August 29th
2:00 p.m.: Business Meeting
The Board of Directors will present brief reports to update the members of the Harlow Family Association (HFA) on the year’s activities.
3:00 p.m.: Break
3:30 p.m.: Ask the Genealogist
HFA Genealogist Winfield Harlow will take questions on the Harlow family and share tips on finding elusive ancestors.
Sunday, August 30th
2:00 p.m.: Election of Officers
The Nominating Committee will present a slate of officers for Harlow Family Association members to elect.
2:15 p.m.: Harlows on Burial Hill
Dr. Anne Mason, Executive Director of the Plymouth Antiquarian Society, will lead a virtual tour of Plymouth’s historic burying ground, highlighting the gravestones of Harlow family members. She will also unveil for the very first time an 1818 needlework sampler created by a Harlow descendant, which was recently given to the Antiquarian Society.
All reunion events are free and open to the public. Instructions for connecting via Zoom will be sent to all registered attendees in August.

The Sergeant William Harlow Family Association was founded in 1939 by descendants of William Harlow of Plymouth. Harlow was a 17th-century farmer, cooper, and town official, who also served as sergeant of the local militia. The Association promotes historical, genealogical, and archaeological research.
