Hedge House Museum

Experience an evening of eerie enchantment with a haunting theatrical performance featuring dramatic readings of Edgar Allan Poe’s most chilling tales and poems. Set within the shadowed, candlelit rooms of the historic Hedge House, this event also unveils the fascinating story of Plymouth’s own Lizzie Doten, a renowned 19th-century spirit medium who claimed to channel Poe himself. Prepare for a night of mystery, suspense, and supernatural intrigue in a setting where history and the macabre intertwine.

We invite you to arrive early to enjoy complimentary cider in our historic Carriage Barn and, if you wish, a short spiritual reading by Mimi, a professional medium (offered for an additional fee on a first-come, first-served basis).

This immersive tour runs about 60 minutes with tours beginning every 20 minutes from 6:30 pm to 8:10 pm. (You may select a 6:30, 6:50, 7:10, 7:30, 7:50, or 8:10 arrival time). It runs three nights only – Thursday, October 16, Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18.

Advance registration required. Choose your arrival time at purchase.
