Duxbury is an oceanfront town with a rural flavor that combines the peaceful allure of country living with the nautical charms of the sea. Incorporated in 1637, the land was named Duxbury in honor of Duxbury Hall, believed to be one of the county seats of the Standish family in England. The town boasts 37 miles of scenic coastline.
