The Town of Pembroke, incorporated in 1712, is a 23.48 square mile residential community located 30 miles south of Boston. Pembroke’s Route 139 is highly developed with all the modern amenities, but the colonial charm of the community remains in tact. Pembroke’s town center is that of a typical New England town, picturesque with many well-preserved historic buildings. In Pembroke you’ll find a zoo, a farmer’s market and a herring run park.

Did you know?

Pembroke is situated at the head of the navigable portion of the North River known for ship building. The first settlers were Robert Barker and Dolor Davis near Herring Brook. It was the site of the first sawmill in the colony for the first forty years.
