May 22, 2025

New England weather is known for being unpredictable and fickle. One day, the sun shines, and the skies are brilliant blue. The next day, there is a veritable monsoon of rain and winds. Mark Twain was right about the weather in our region: “If you don’t like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes.

Thankfully, New Englanders are clever and have plans for those gray rainy days, including activities and events for children who need to release some energy. The South Shore, particularly Plymouth, has many places to visit, things to see and activities to keep even the most active children entertained. Here are some fun rainy day suggestions for kids and their parents.
